Carmen was in a lot of pain after checking in to Good Samaratin last week, so on January 20 her doctors did surgery to put in a colostomy. This took a lot of pressure off of her bowels and she started feeling better soon after.
I saw Carmen on Saturday and she was in great spirits, even to the point where seriously considered sneaking out to go salsa dancing. Now that she is able to eat well, we expect that she will check out of Good Sam sometime in the next day or so.
Many of you stopped in to see Carmen and she was truly overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from friends and family. I think she even had to turn off her phone because all the daytime calls were interrupting her rest.

Thanks for setting this up. Hopefully everyone will post their love and prayers for Carmen to enjoy.
For everyone wishing to help, we still are not quite sure when she will be home or what will be going on, so stay tuned.
