Carmen Martinez passed away on May 17, 2009. We were very close, and in some ways, I still struggle with the idea that she’s gone. And now that it’s been a year, I thought it would be good to post the program that I put together for her memorial service. I printed it on this really amazing metallic paper that looked like it would last forever.
I read somewhere that the people who come into your life have a message for you, an answer to a question you’re trying to resolve. And in this theory, they aren’t even aware of the answer that they are passing along. Carmen wasn’t like that. She seemed to be conscious of the questions and the answers, even when she couldn’t find them for herself.
People like Carmen are a great gift to us all. Their capacity to love is limitless. And in them we see the potential of what we should be.

Almost 11 years to the the day Rich joined Carmen in the forever after 5/20/20. It's been a journey for me personally. Rich spoke of Carmen often, but like a lot of Rich's life, he kept so much to himself. He believed that Carmen was his soulmate and so do I. He also believed that energy cannot be destroyed. I hope wherever his energy has gone, he is happy and with Carmen. Reading his blogs has been eye opening. He included being a published author on his vision board. How I wish he would have been able to complete that goal. His short stories are amazing and I know if he had the time, he would have accomplished his dream of completing a novel. Rich was so very proud of his son, Logan, who is so kind and compassionate. He inherited all the very best of Rich. Rich worked very hard to build a business and his persona within the HPC industry. We are currently working very hard to ensure Rich's legacy will continue in the industry. Rich was loved beyond words and we will miss his presence in our family forever.
